The Chestnuts Care Home is a family owned and run care home set in an acre of grounds and situated in the lovely rural village of Meopham in Kent. The Home is close to many local amenities including village shops, restaurants, pubs and has good transport links.

The Home was opened by Pat and Michael Banks in 1983 and both of them were involved in the running of the Home for many years. The Home is now managed by their daughter Lesley Plumb who is the registered manager and also holds a nursing qualification.

The original Victorian building remains at the heart of the Home with new wings added to provide further accommodation. There are 29 single rooms over 3 floors with a lift and chair lift to assist those that prefer not to use stairs.

At the rear of the Home there is a large garden with beautiful views across the countryside. A more recent addition has been the creation of a sensory garden.

The aim of all who work here is to create a friendly, relaxed and homely atmosphere. The ethos of The Chestnuts is that we are here to care for the people that live here. This is their home and they are at the forefront of everything we do. It is important to us that everyone living here participates as much or as little as they wish to in being part of life within the home.
